Attracting and Retaining Potential Employees
Saturn was approached by a plumbing contractor to help him attract top level talent. With a huge rise in commercial and residential construction it became imperative for him to hire the right people and retain them. By filling parts of his schedule with trade customers we were able to build his barter account, which allowed him to develop an employee benefits package through Saturn. His employees were bonused in trade every quarter as well as having their medical and dental plans paid for using trade dollars.
By using his barter to boost employee gratification, the plumber was able to not only keep his guys busy during downtime, he was also able to provide benefits he normally would not have been able to offer in the cash world. This gave him a competitive edge when hiring and retaining new talent.
Client: New Catering Company
Fill empty schedule slots and increase their marketing presence to compete with established catering companies.
We selected their five best menu items and targeted commercial clients as ongoing, residual, trade customers. These were consistent, regularly scheduled jobs that they could easily plan and coordinate around so that we didn’t hinder their cash business.
By selectively filling their schedule with regular business we were able to increase their corporate lunch sales without conflicting with their cash business. We then used their trade dollars for vehicle wraps, website design, marketing materials and trade show booths for wedding expos in the area. This allowed them to not only gain valuable word of mouth advertising through our Saturn clients, but they were also able to increase their exposure to new cash paying customers as well.

Kent enjoys spending time with his wife, Christa, and his five children.
Office Manager / Travel Broker
Michelle has been with Saturn since it began 7 years ago. Besides managing the office staff, she is also Saturn’s exclusive travel broker. Michelle became a Certified Trade Broker at the 2015 NATE Convention in Las Vegas. Last year Michelle was awarded the Saturn Award for her ongoing commitment and dedicated service to the company. Michelle enjoys spending time with her kids and traveling. Next on her vacation list is touring Italy and the UK.
Cathrine (or Cat) has a combined total of almost 20 years in sales and was the first broker hired at Saturn. With a background that includes industrial sales, safety, and hospitality, she brings a well-rounded book of skills to trade. She was broker of the year for both 2012 and 2013.
Outside of work Cat enjoys spending time with her husband of 7 years and their daughter. Cat’s future ambitions are to get her private pilot’s license, travel to each continent, and to live to the fullest.
Josh has been with Saturn for the past seven years, adding to his 12+ years of sales experience. He became a Certified Trade Broker at the 2014 IRTA Convention in Cancun. He was recently awarded the 2015 Trade Broker of the Year award and currently holds the record for the highest trade volume in a single month. In his time away from the office he enjoys coaching youth baseball, fishing and snowboarding.
Anthony has been in sales for the last 13 years, with the last five spent here at Saturn Barter Company. Combining his extensive background in real estate and his love for trade, Anthony was awarded the 2015 Salesperson of the Year. He completed his training as a Certified Trade Broker at the 2015 Nate Convention in Las Vegas. Aside from work, Anthony is heavily involved with his church and enjoys crossfit and softball.
Ryan joined Saturn Barter Company in 2015 and continues to consistently meet and exceed sales goals. As a broker Ryan uses his experience, Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Sociology and his dedication to his Saturn clients to help grow and amplify businesses in the Pacific Northwest. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.
June started working with Saturn Barter Company when it first began in 2009. Starting as an Appointment Setter and Assistant, and recently becoming an Accounts Manager in 2017. June loves working for Saturn Barter, the company, her co-workers and thoroughly enjoys helping clients build their businesses through the art of trade! In her spare time, June loves spending time with her family, her two children and friends.
Front Office Manager
Jessica started at Saturn Barter in early 2017. With a diverse background, including healthcare, banking and as a daycare provider, Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for helping people to Saturn. Jessica earned her Early Childhood Development Associates while she worked and raised children, then earned an Associates in General Business with emphasis in Accounting and Payroll. Jessica loves Saturn because even though it is a globally connected business it still feels like family.
Rayna began working with Saturn Barter Company in late 2017 as a marketing specialist. Rayna supports Saturn in all marketing, advertising and event coordination. With a background in entrepreneurship, marketing, graphic design and a deep passion for writing, Rayna thoroughly enjoys supporting local companies within the barter network. In her spare time, Rayna writes novels, freelances, provides Reiki to a few clients, and spends time with her “tribe” of family and friends.
